Bentota Beach Hotel, now rebranded Cinnamon Beach is located on Bentota Beach 65 kms
down the South Coast from Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri
Lanka.
Formerly known as the Bentota Beach Hotel, Cinamon Beach is
located between Bentota's stunning white beach and the tranquil
river lagoon, which is used for
water sports, on the other.
The Bentota Beach Hotel design was inspired by the Dutch Fort architecture and nestled within 30 acres of coconut
plantation. The setting is unusual in that the hotel faces the Indian
Ocean on one side and the calm waters of the river lagoon on the
other. Entering the hotel the beautiful batik ceiling makes a
favourable first impression reinforced by the beautiful pool

The Bentota Beach hotel
design by renowned Sri Lanka architect Geoffrey Bawa was
inspired by the Dutch Fort at Galle further down the South Coast.
The expansive golden sandy Bentota beach on which the hotel lies
allow you to soak up the sun, entertain children, take romantic
beach strolls as well as enjoy a stunning Indian Ocean sunset.
In accordance with our "Visit
and Inspect Before Recommending Policy" Bentota Beach Hotel
was visited by the Director of our London Office on 7 April 07;
Shailesh Adalja whose inspection party stayed in Deluxe Room
105. All images used on this site were taken during our visits
so you can see Cinnamon Beach exactly as another tourist would.
Our inspection in April
2007 confirmed that Bentota Beach Hotel with its spacious
grounds is suitable for families and the active, there are water
sports with quality equipment and tuition available along the
river.
The sunsets on this part of the South Coast of Sri Lanka are
amongst the best as are the miles of tropical beach.
Arranged over 3 floors, Bentota Beach Hotel offers a total of 105 rooms
with private terrace or balcony facing the sea or the lagoon.
There is a wide choice of room types including 25 Superior rooms and 3 Presidential Suites. Air
conditioning is standard and the floors are tiled throughout,
keeping the rooms cool throughout the mid day sun. Light day
curtains mask the large bay windows onto the balcony, offering
views over the gardens and out to sea or over the river.
Amongst the
superior accommodation the choice
are Presidential Suite, Junior suites, superior deluxe (Room
115), deluxe, superior and standard rooms. Below we have
recommended the suites, superior deluxe room 115 and the deluxe
rooms. The interiors have predominantly teak furnishings with
generic luxury fabrics. The rooms are equipped with telephones,
safes, TV's, mini bar. We stayed in
Deluxe Room 105 which is a mini suite. Room 105 has vast windows
facing one wing of the hotel and a wide balcony giving
unrivalled beach views.
The Superior rooms and Mini Suites enjoy more space with a
sitting room for private relaxation. An impressive Presidential
Suite has stunning Indian Ocean views from its large windows.
