The Grand Hotel in Nuwara Eliya epitomises the atmosphere of the quaint little town known as “Little England” Built
a century and more ago in English colonial style, the building relives Ceylon's colonial past and is a part of its heritage.
The Grand Hotel is also by
far the most luxurious hotel
in Nuwara Eliya. The
spacious tastefully
furnished suites offer five
star accommodation. Pleasant
views of the sprawling
gardens are afforded by the
large bay windows. The next
category are the spacious
and well furnished deluxe
rooms with wooden floors.
The adjacent Nuwara Golf
Course completes the feel of
aristocratic English
surroundings.
Tie and Jacket are still required
attire for dinner.
In accordance with our
“Visit, Stay At and Inspect
before recommending” policy
Grand Hotel was visited by
our UK directors in 2003. We
stayed in a deluxe room. The
older standard rooms have
basic comforts and often
huge bathrooms. Overall this
is an impressive historic
hotel in a historic town.
