Superb dining is just
some of the experiences to indulge in. Dinner on the terrace watching
the waves crashing on the rocks below is an experience as is seafood
barbeque among the rocks. Buffets served in the main coffee shop are
characterised by choice and taste. The orange sauces of the chef are a
delight. Alternatively dine a la carte on the upper
floor astride a large semi covered pond where candle lights float on the
water and a terrace offers a great view of Galle. The furnishings
throughout the hotel are minimalist, giving a feel of spaciousness, but
dotted throughout with antique reproductions of the Dutch Galle Fort

The first impression

LOCATION: Your air conditioned
chauffeur driven car or minivan will follow the Galle road out of
Colombo City. Galle Road is the longest road in Sri Lanka stretching all
the way down from Colombo to Galle. Proceed south on Galle Road through
Colpetty, Bambalapitiya, Wellawatte, Dehiwala, Mount Lavinia, Ratmalana,
Panadura, Wadduwa, Kalutara, Beruwala, Bentota, Ambalangoda, Hikkaduwa
and finally to Galle. The hotel situated at the 114 km post, just before
entering downtown Galle. The world heritage site of Galle Fort is only 4
kms from the Lighthouse Hotel.
